How to get around Vrindavan
🚶 On foot in the core
Banke Bihari, Radha Vallabh and Nidhivan sit in a knot of lanes where nothing on wheels fits. The last three hundred metres to Banke Bihari are walking only, for everyone.
free
E-rickshaws by zones
The town is split into zones with fixed routes: a driver works his own and hands you on at the boundary. To ISKCON and Prem Mandir it is ~₹30–60 from the centre.
~₹10–20 a seat when shared, ~₹50–150 for a private ride
Auto and cycle rickshaws
Still around, but being squeezed out by the electric ones: they are slower into the lanes and no cheaper.
~₹50–150 for a ride
A car inside the town
Private cars are barred from the centre at busy hours and parking sits on the outer roads. Uber and Ola are close to useless here and only make sense intercity.
from ~₹150 if one takes you at all
At weekends and on festivals the town seizes up and cars are turned back: park outside and continue by e-rickshaw or on foot.
