🚂 The steam locomotive works the Mettupalayam–Coonoor section; the upper 18 km to Ooty are pulled by a diesel. Tickets open 60 days ahead on IRCTC.

🎫 When the full Mettupalayam run is gone, the Coonoor–Ooty shuttles still have seats, and the counter quota moves in the morning.

🛣 The famous count belongs to the Masinagudi climb. Coming from Coimbatore you get a different ghat road with about fifteen turns.
