Wenlock Downs
Grassland runs to the horizon here in long slow folds, and it has been doing so on film for decades: locals call the place Shooting Medu because Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Raja Hindustani, Deewana and a great many others shot their song sequences on these meadows. Open around 9:00 to 18:30 with a small fee; horse rides are offered on the downs, and the Pine Forest next door smells of eucalyptus after rain. It sits on the Pykara road, and it is the sort of place that argues for stopping the car and walking a few hundred metres into the view.
