How to get around Dehradun

← Dehradun

Vikram: the six-seat shared tuk-tuk

The city's real transport: numbered routes, fixed fares, you flag one down and squeeze in. The number on the windscreen is the route, so ask locals which digit goes your way.

~₹10–20 per seat

Ola and Rapido

Ola works normally and Rapido covers bikes, autos and cars, the cheapest app option. Uber here is effectively an intercity service only.

from ~₹50 across town

Doon electric buses

New city routes, quiet and air-conditioned, running roughly from six in the morning to half past seven in the evening. Nothing after that, so plan the evening on wheels of your own.

Autos off the street

No meters, so the price is settled before you sit down. Useful where the Vikram routes do not reach: Rajpur Road above the city, for instance.

~₹80–150 for a short hop
