How to get around Agra

← Agra

Metro: Taj to the Fort

Six stations strung along exactly the sights you came for: Taj East Gate, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the old city. Opened in 2024 and still half empty.

~₹10–20

Tuk-tuks and e-rickshaws

No meters here: agree the price before you get in. Hiring one driver for the day is the usual arrangement and saves the haggling at every stop.

~₹800–1,500 for a full day

Uber and Ola

They work, but there are few cars at dawn and around the monuments, where drivers switch the app off and sell tours instead.

from ~₹100 across town

On foot in Taj Ganj

The lanes right behind the south gate are walkable and full of rooftop cafés facing the dome; the rest of the city is not.

free

Petrol vehicles stop 500 m from the Taj: from the car park it is an electric shuttle, and for foreign tickets it is free.
