Which train, which Delhi station

Delhi has four main stations (New Delhi, Old Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar), and trains from Jaipur also use smaller ones such as Delhi Cantonment and Delhi Sarai Rohilla. A few examples from the published routes:

Shatabdi from Ajmer: stops at Jaipur, Gurgaon and Delhi Cantonment before ending at New Delhi.
Vande Bharats: both that run through Jaipur, Ajmer–Chandigarh and Jodhpur–Delhi Cantonment, call at Gurgaon and Delhi Cantonment, not at New Delhi. The Jodhpur train ends at Delhi Cantonment; the Ajmer one continues north.
AC Double Decker: a chair-car train that ends at Delhi Sarai Rohilla.

So read the arrival station on the ticket and plan the last stretch from there; Gurgaon and Delhi Cantonment can be handier than the centre if that is where you are staying. Reserved tickets open 60 days ahead on IRCTC, the Indian Railways booking site. In Jaipur, Jaipur Junction has its own metro stop, so getting to the train from the Pink City is a short ride.

Bus or flight instead

The bus suits a late decision or a night journey. RSRTC (Rajasthan state transport) Volvos leave Sindhi Camp, Jaipur's central bus stand with its own metro station, round the clock, and private AC sleepers are an option too. In Delhi the Rajasthan buses come into Sarai Kale Khan in the south of the city. Bear in mind that the Delhi metro runs only until about 23:30, so an arrival in the small hours means a taxi.

The flight is about an hour in the air, but the transfer from Jaipur airport alone takes 20–30 minutes (about ₹250–500 by prepaid taxi or app, approx., August 2026), and Delhi's airport adds its own ride at the other end. With check-in and two airport transfers added, little time is saved over the Vande Bharat; the flight makes most sense when you are connecting to another flight in Delhi.

Take the metro — A QR ticket comes from the DMRC app or straight through WhatsApp. For a sightseeing day the tourist card is simpler: about ₹200 for one day, ₹500 for three, deposit included.
The first coach is for women — In every metro train the women-only coach is the first in the direction of travel, marked pink on the platform.
Never a street cab — A cab hailed off the street asks 3–10 times the fair price. Use an app or a prepaid counter, where the fare is written on a slip and paid at the end.
