Yamuna aarti at Vishram Ghat

At dusk the priests raise tiered brass lamps over the water while people set leaf boats with small flames adrift. The ghat is called Vishram ("rest"): by tradition Krishna rested here after killing Kansa. The city's parikrama, the circuit of Mathura, begins and ends on these steps.

Daily at dusk; the hour moves through the year with sunset.
