How to get around Jaipur

← Jaipur

Pink Line metro

Eleven stations from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar, and that last one puts you within walking distance of Hawa Mahal, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the bazaars. Runs 06:00 to 22:00.

~₹10–30

Uber, Ola and Rapido

Coverage in town is solid and the Rapido motorbike is the cheapest ride of all. The price is set in the app, which is the whole point here.

from ~₹100 across the centre

E-rickshaws in the Pink City

Perfect for the last stretch between the bazaars, where a car would only sit in the crowd.

~₹10–50 for a short hop

Auto-rickshaws

The official tariff exists but nobody uses it, so name the price before you sit down. A driver hired for the day runs ~₹1,200–1,800 and saves the haggling.

~₹100–200 in the centre, ~₹200–300 to Amber

JCTSL city buses

Low-floor buses covering the whole city; route AC1 is the one tourists actually need, because it passes Amber Fort.

~₹5–25

Gem scam: nobody resells Jaipur stones at a profit, and a rickshaw's friendly shop detour is a commission.
