How to reach bangalore

Kempegowda International (BLR)

The main gateway to South India: direct flights from Europe, the Gulf and all major Indian cities. It sits far north of the city, so plan the road, not just the flight. Terminal 2 is a sight in its own right: a bamboo-lattice hall hung with gardens and waterfalls, and the only Indian terminal UNESCO's Prix Versailles has counted among the world's most beautiful airports. Every international flight uses it; domestic ones are split with the older T1, so check the terminal on your boarding pass.

Best option

By train

Three stations: KSR Bengaluru City in the centre by Majestic, Yeshvantpur to the north, SMVT to the east; check which one your ticket says.

Overnight sleeper bus

The cheap way in from Hyderabad, Chennai, Goa and Hampi: board in the evening, wake up in the city.
