The sun through Nandi's horns
A cave temple cut out of one rock in the sixteenth century, built so that once a year the light does the work. On Makar Sankranti, 14 January, the setting sun passes between the horns of the Nandi standing outside and falls on the lingam in the inner chamber. It lasts minutes, and the courtyard fills long before.
14 January, late afternoon. On other days the temple is an ordinary quiet cave temple and worth the visit anyway.
