Swarved Mahamandir

Seven storeys of pink sandstone and Makrana marble, opened in December 2023 about 18 km northwest of the city and billed as the largest meditation centre in the world, with room for twenty thousand people to sit at once. More than three thousand verses of the Swarved, the scripture of the Vihangam Yoga tradition, are carved across its walls; outside are lotus domes of 125 petals, fountains and gardens of medicinal plants. This is new devotional architecture rather than an ancient shrine, and the scale is the whole point. Go by taxi, dress modestly, shoes off at the entrance. Free.
