Seat of the Power of Goddess Sati. Harsiddhi Temple

Not far from the embankment stands Shree Harsiddhi Mata Mandir, one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, sacred places where, according to legend, parts of the body of Sati, the first wife of Shiva, fell.

It was here, according to the tales, that the goddess's elbow fell, and since then this place has become a seat of her power.

The temple feels different immediately. If Mahakala is the power of time, then Harsiddhi is the power of Shakti: creative and transformative, both gentle and mighty.

At the entrance are two large lamps with hundreds of niches for small lights. On holidays they light them all, and the whole temple shines with warmth and light. The morning aarti begins at 7:00, and the evening aarti at 19:00. Inside there is an atmosphere of reverence and respect. On the dome of the temple there is unique artwork.
