Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village
Whole houses saved from demolition and put back together beam by beam, on some six acres of Manipal. The late Vijayanath Shenoy brought eighteen to twenty heritage buildings here (merchant houses of coastal Karnataka, a 13th-century Harihara shrine, residences carried in from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra) and filled them with folk art, textiles and everyday objects. Open Tuesday to Sunday, roughly 10:00–17:00 with last entry near 15:45, closed Mondays; tickets ran about 300 rupees for adults. Footwear comes off at each doorway, so slip-ons help, and two to three hours goes quickly.
