AreaTirumala

Five kilometres from the Tirumala bus station, a hillside spring is channelled into a row of open showers where pilgrims wash before darshan; the name means 'destruction of sins'. The water comes down spring-cold and the mood is practical: people arrive, wash and move on. There are separate changing areas for men and women and a garden alongside, and the dam just above (one of Tirumala's water sources) opens a wide view over the forested valley. Five to ten minutes on foot from the parking, roughly 06:00–18:00, free. Fullest during and just after the monsoon.
