Sri Kalahasti Temple

40 km from Tirupati. One of the Pancha Bhuta Sthalams, five temples dedicated to the elements of nature. Kalahasti is the temple of Air (vata sthala), where Shiva resides in the form of invisible wind. It is also known as Dakshina Kailasam, the Kailas of the South, and Dakshina Kasi, the Kashi of the South. Famous as the temple for Rahu-Ketu puja, where pilgrims come specifically to remove astrological obstacles.
