Chakra Teertham
Three kilometres from the Tirumala bus station and a short way past Silathoranam, a seasonal fall drops into a pool among the trees. Tradition places Brahma's penance here, and holds that Vishnu's discus, the chakra the site is named for, cleansed the water. Once a year the processional deity is carried down for the Chakrasnanam, the ritual bath that closes Brahmotsavam and draws the whole hill; on any other day it is quiet woodland. Reachable on foot or on the local TTD bus circuit, with water present mainly during and after the monsoon.
