Tulshibaug Market

← Pune

AreaBudhwar Peth

The old city's bazaar in its purest form, a dense grid of lanes that grew around the Peshwa-era Ram temple of Tulshibaug. Everything domestic and everything devotional is sold here: brass and copperware, puja items, bangles and bindis, ittars, the oil-based perfumes, from fifty rupees, wind chimes, kitchen things, and clothes and footwear at prices that explain the crowds. Shops keep roughly 10 am to 9:30 pm; carry cash and allow a couple of hours. It sits between Laxmi Road, Mandai and the Dagdusheth temple, so one afternoon can take in the lot.

The densest dose of everyday Puneri life, and the best hunting for small souvenirs
