Government Botanical Garden

Founded back in 1848, this garden is a true green jewel of Ooty. It sprawls across a hillside in terraces: manicured lawns, tropical trees, and collections of alpine plants. You can stroll through shaded walkways and admire cacti, rare orchids, and giant eucalyptus trees.

The main curiosity is a petrified tree estimated to be 20 million years old. It's an excellent place for an unhurried walk and photos.
