Landour Bazaar
One of the oldest hill bazaars in India grew up here after 1827 to supply the Landour military hospital and cantonment, and it still works as a market rather than a display. The street climbs narrow between silversmiths, tailors, brass-and-copper shops and kabari dealers (the second-hand and antique trade), many of them run by families several generations deep. Old silver bangles and Raj-era curios are the classic hunt. This is the working lower market, distinct from the quiet colonial quarter above it; Ruskin Bond's writing made the street famous, and his Ivy Cottage sits a few bends up.
