Jharipani Falls

← Mussoorie

AreaJharipani, ~8.5 km on the Barlowganj side

Below Jharipani, in the old boarding-school belt on the Barlowganj side, a forty-foot fall comes off a rocky cliff into a wooded gorge. Vehicles get to within about a kilometre and a half; the rest is a pleasant walk in through the trees, which is much of the reason the numbers stay low here compared with the headline falls. Go during the monsoon or just after for the full drop. The rock near the base gets slippery when the water is high, so keep off the wet stone and watch where you put your feet.
