Mussoorie

Jabarkhet Nature Reserve

← Mussoorie

AreaMussoorie–Dhanaulti road, just past Landour (near Flag Hill)

About a hundred acres of ridge forest past Landour, once degraded and now restored to thriving oak and rhododendron woodland and, since it opened in 2015, India's first privately owned nature reserve. Eight marked trails run through it, a camera-trap gallery shows that leopards, bears and martens are still here, and trained local naturalists lead guided walks for anyone who wants to be shown what they are looking at. Self-guided entry is ₹531 per adult and a guided walk ₹708–1,180 per adult, depending on group size; gates run roughly 7:00 to 18:00. Spring brings the rhododendron bloom, the post-monsoon weeks the clearest ridge views.
