Christ Church

← Mussoorie

AreaAbove Mall Road, near Kasmanda Palace

A five-minute climb above Mall Road, near Kasmanda Palace, brings you to stone walls and pointed arches raised in 1836 by the town's small British community, which makes this, by most accounts, the oldest church in the Himalayan region. Gothic Revival work outside, stained glass inside telling scenes from the life of Christ, with the light through it doing most of the decorating. Part of the Church of North India since 1970 and still in use, so services come before sightseeing. No ticket, and quiet even in peak season.
