Bhatta Falls

← Mussoorie

AreaBhatta village, ~7–10 km toward Dehradun

About thirty feet of water dropping into clean natural pools, seven to ten kilometres down the Dehradun road near Bhatta village. This is the sensible answer to Kempty, with a fraction of the crowd. The walk down from the road is short, there are simple picnic spots and a children's corner, and a ropeway now runs from Bhatta village down to the falls for anyone who would rather ride than walk. The whole thing works as an easy family half-day rather than an expedition. Flow is at its best during the monsoon and just after, roughly July to October; by May and June it thins out considerably.
