Kodlamane Shree Vishnumurthy Temple
An old Vishnu shrine in wooded hills inland from Honnavar, reached on foot along forest paths, with a tall Garuda stambha (a pillar topped by Vishnu's eagle) marking the gate. Karnataka Tourism and Outlook Traveller both list it among the quiet, little-visited sights of the district rather than among the pilgrimage stops, and that is exactly how it reads on an ordinary day. The Rathotsava, the annual chariot festival, is the one date when the place fills up. Footwear off, modest dress, and mornings are the cooler time for the walk in.
