Mount Carmel Church
On a hill near the bus station stands Mount Carmel Church, one of the oldest Catholic churches in the region, built in the early 20th century by missionaries. A simple white building with a cross, easily visible from the road and reachable on foot from the market. You can enter anytime, but it's especially interesting on Sunday mornings during services. Everything is conducted in Malayalam, but the atmosphere is very warm: parishioners in festive saris and suits, the singing of hymns, and the scent of incense and flowers. A spiritual experience even for non-Catholics.
