Meesapulimala

At 2,640 m this is commonly cited as the second-highest summit in the Western Ghats after Anamudi, and unlike Anamudi you are allowed to walk up it. Access runs only through the Kerala Forest Development Corporation's ecotourism programme, from a base camp about 24 km from Munnar via the Silent Valley estate: a guided ridge walk over eight grassy hills, through rhododendron groves and patches of shola forest, with Kolukkumalai's tea slopes across the valley. Book ahead on the KFDC Munnar site. Day treks or a night in tents or the Rhodo Mansion run about Rs 4,000–9,000 for two with meals and a guide; October to February is the prime window.
