Mattupetty Dam

Nearly everyone stops here for photos, and yes, it's just a dam with fountains spraying water everywhere that you can't get wet from, since they're too far away. But the spectacle is mesmerizing: rainbows in the droplets and crowds of Indian families taking photos. A catamaran ride across the lake is available for around 300–500 rupees for 30 minutes. Worth visiting for the views and to experience local tourist culture, though it's not an isolated natural wonder; it's quite busy.
