Lakkam Waterfalls
Fifty feet of water on the Munnar-Marayoor road, fed by streams coming off the Eravikulam plateau and reached by a stepped path of about ten minutes down through forest at the edge of the national park's buffer zone. Access is managed: a small fee of roughly Rs 25–50, gates open around 8 AM to 5 PM. When the flow allows, the shallow pools below draw people in for a cold soak. October to January, once the rains have done their work, is the best stretch of the year. It sits neatly in the same day as Marayoor's dolmens and sandalwood country.
