AreaTop Station road

A reservoir about 20 km out on the Top Station road, past Mattupetty, with tea gardens running right down to the waterline. It is quieter and, for most tastes, prettier than its better-known neighbour. The signature ride is a Kashmiri shikara, alongside pedal and row boats, roughly Rs 100–200 for half an hour; boating stops at 4:30 PM, the gates run about 9 AM to 5 PM, and entry is free. The cherry trees along the shore blossom twice a year, and the slopes behind are neelakurinji ground. Easy to fold into one morning with Echo Point and Top Station.
