A multi-tier cascade in a green gorge between Munnar and Pallivasal, 8–9 km from town, reached over a narrow wooden footbridge that shifts a little underfoot. During the southwest monsoon and just after it, June to September, the drop turns into a roaring white wall; this is the Munnar waterfall photograph most people come home with. In the dry months the same rock shrinks to shallow pools, calm enough for a careful dip. Entry is free, parking may cost a little, and access is sometimes closed when the rain is at its heaviest, so it is worth asking before the drive out.
