Mangaldas Market

← Mumbai

AreaKalbadevi

A covered cloth market trading since the 1890s that has grown into one of Asia's biggest textile bazaars: roughly three thousand stalls of silk, cotton, denim, sari and suiting fabric, sold by the metre at wholesale rates. The adjoining Mulji Jetha market extends the maze, and after twenty minutes the aisles stop making sense, which is a fair part of the pleasure. Closed Sundays. Compare a few stalls before committing, and remember that tailors nearby will stitch whatever you carry out.
