Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue
Kala Ghoda's blue synagogue is easy to walk past (a closed gate, a guard, no queue), which is why most visitors never see the inside. The Sassoon family endowed it in 1884 and it still serves Mumbai's small Bene Israel and Baghdadi Jewish congregations. A two-year conservation completed in 2019 returned the facade to its original white and indigo and revived the stained glass and the slender cast-iron columns. Visitors are generally welcome outside service times; carry ID, and arrange the visit in advance if you can.
