Prasadam at Mayapur

Prasadam is food that has first been offered to the deity and then given back out to people, the idea being that you are not buying lunch, you are receiving something. In practice at Mayapur it is a very good vegetarian meal eaten sitting on the floor in rows from a metal plate, with servers walking the lines and topping up whatever you finish. It is one of the cheapest and best meals in West Bengal.

The main prasadam hall serves lunch roughly 12:30–13:30 and dinner roughly 20:00–20:30. Coupons must be bought in advance at the counter, not at the door. Restaurants on campus keep their own longer hours.
