Weavers Studio

More a textile institution than a shop: over 250 craftspeople work here in hand-block printing, kantha embroidery, shibori and handloom weaving, and the store winds through saris, stoles, yardage and menswear at a pace that discourages rushing. The house also keeps hundreds of antique kanthas and baluchari saris and runs as a research and archive hub for Indian cloth. If fabric is part of why you travel, this is a destination on its own terms.
