Hill Palace Museum
A palace that stopped being private: the Cochin royal family's official residence, built in 1865, now holds Kerala's largest archaeological collection. The grounds run to 54 acres and 49 buildings in traditional Kerala style, with royal regalia including a crown, murals, sculpture and a deer park where the walking slows right down. It stands about 12 km southeast of Ernakulam and pairs naturally with the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple nearby. Closed Mondays; open roughly 9:00–16:30 with a midday break, entry around ₹30–40 plus a small camera fee.
