AreaPiravom (~38 km)

Ernakulam district keeps its own waterfall near Piravom, fed from the Mannathoor hills, and it lives entirely by the calendar: it roars from June to November and thins to a trickle once the rains stop, so timing is the whole trick. A rural tourism project recently added steps, a viewing bridge, changing rooms and a check dam where bathing is safe, and entry is around ₹20. Few people outside the city have heard of it, which is rather the point: an easy half-day in the countryside about 38 km out, among people who drove down from Kochi for the afternoon.
