Johari Bazaar is the main artery of the old city, where precious stones are traded. Jaipur is one of the world's largest centers for cutting gemstones: emeralds, rubies, and sapphires are faceted here, and silver and gold jewelry is made.

The best areas are Johari Bazaar and specialized certified stores. Prices are usually quoted with a markup, so bargaining is the norm. Often you can negotiate the price down by 2–3 times.
