AreaMI Road

The Kasliwal family has sold jewellery from the same MI Road haveli since 1852, first to the princely courts and later to visiting royalty and film stars, which is why the cases here hold pieces closer to museum objects than to shop stock. Not all of it is out of reach: gem-set silver sits alongside the heritage work, and the staff are used to people who have come to look. Walking in without buying anything is the cheapest way to understand why Jaipur counts as one of the world's gem-cutting capitals.
