Garh Ganesh Temple

← Jaipur

AreaBrahmpuri, hills below Nahargarh

Sawai Jai Singh II put this shrine on the ridge before there was a Jaipur below it, and the deity inside is unusual: a child form of Ganesha without the elephant trunk, known as Purushakriti. Getting up means 365 steps along the Aravalli slope, which is why most visitors take the forts instead and leave this one to pilgrims and morning walkers. The top gives an open view over the old city, with Nahargarh and Jaigarh on the ridgeline, at its best around sunrise or sunset. Free; bring water and skip the middle of the day.
