Moula Ali Dargah & Hill
A dargah (a venerated shrine) from the Qutb Shahi period, set on a granite dome in the northeast of the city and honouring Hazrat Ali. Four hundred and eighty-four broad steps climb to it past old tombs on the slope, and the walk is unhurried by design: people stop, sit, carry on. Behind the shrine a rock ledge opens onto one of the widest views of Hyderabad and Secunderabad together, at its best as the light goes. Shia and Sunni Hyderabadis both revere the place, and the annual urs draws large crowds. Few visitors reach this side of the city. Open early morning to night, free, shoes left outside.
