Moazzam Jahi Market
A triangular hall of grey granite with a clock tower, put up between 1933 and 1935 under the last Nizam and named for his son. Decades of accretion had swallowed the stonework; a full heritage restoration finished in 2020 stripped it back, and the facade reads clearly again. Trade goes on as it always did (fruit, flowers, dry fruits), and the hand-churned ice cream counters here are old enough to count as institutions in their own right. Evenings are when it fills and the lamps come on. A photogenic pause on the way between Abids and the Old City.
Hand-churned ice cream counters old enough to be institutions, liveliest after dark
