Makkah Masjid
The name is no accident: bricks made from Mecca soil were used in constructing the central arch, making it especially significant for local Muslims. The complex is enormous: during prayers, the courtyard and halls fill with up to 10,000 worshippers, and you feel the real energy of a great spiritual center.
The architecture is austere and monumental: massive columns, soaring arches, and a spacious inner courtyard that always bustles with activity, from vendors at the entrance to families arriving after evening prayers.
Visiting tips: Dress modestly and respect prayer times. Non-Muslims may visit outside of prayer hours.
One of India's largest and most revered mosques
