Durgam Cheruvu (Secret Lake)

They call it the Secret Lake because the granite hides it: a Qutb Shahi-era reservoir sunk in a bowl of ancient rock between Jubilee Hills and HITEC City, invisible until you are almost at the edge. A free promenade and park run along the water, pedal and motor boats go out from the shore, and the outcrops around it are big enough to hold your eye. Since 2020 a cable-stayed bridge has crossed the view, lit after dark. Golden hour is the answer: the sun drops behind the rocks first, the bridge lights come on second. Weekends belong to local families.
