Underground Shiva Temple

This temple lies below ground level, which is why the interior is always cooler and darker than outside. What makes it special is how different it feels from other structures: minimal light, moisture, echoing sounds. The experience is almost meditative: you're physically below the bustling surface of Hampi.

Practically: wear shoes with good grip here; it can be damp inside. Viewing takes 10–15 minutes.
