The Stone Chariot is located within the Vittala temple complex and is part of its architectural ensemble. It's not a standalone "photo opportunity" but an element of the temple composition with religious and symbolic meaning. In Hindu temple tradition, chariots are associated with processions and the concept of divine movement.

The Stone Chariot is not monolithic: it is assembled from multiple granite blocks, fitted so precisely that the joints are barely visible. The "carved from a single stone" claim is a popular myth. The level of detail here exceeds that of most Hampi objects; the hubs, rims, carvings, and proportions are all intricately worked.

Practically: viewing takes 10–15 minutes, but it's almost always crowded since it's one of the most photographed features of the Vittala complex.
