Lotus Mahal
Lotus Mahal is one of the most unusual buildings in the royal section. It stands out because different architectural traditions, Hindu and Islamic, blend within it. This fusion reflects the cultural complexity of the Vijayanagara Empire.
Its distinctiveness lies in its form and ventilation system. The building was designed so the interior stayed cool even in extreme heat, evident in the window shapes, vaults, and passages. It wasn't a residential space but a pavilion for relaxation, a place to escape the heat and enjoy quiet leisure.
