Evening aarti on the bank

The aarti is sung not inside the temple but on the bank of the Bhagirathi, where the water is still glacier-cold and loud enough to cover the voices. Beside it stands Bhagirath Shila, the rock where King Bhagirath is said to have sat until Shiva agreed to take the river's fall on his head.
