Chandigarh Bird Park
A compact bird park in the Nagar Van woodland, a ten-minute walk behind Sukhna Lake, opened by the forest department in 2021. Around 550 birds of some 48 species live here (macaws, cockatoos, pheasants, black swans), but the point is the walk-through aviaries, netted volumes up to 58 ft high where the birds cross above and around you instead of sitting behind glass. Basic entry is Rs 50 for Indian citizens (Rs 30 for children) and Rs 100 for foreign visitors, with a separate Winged Wonders ticket of Rs 100 and Rs 500 respectively. Open 10 am to 6 pm, closed Monday and Tuesday.
