1469 Original
The name is a year: 1469, when Guru Nanak was born. Harinder Singh built the shop around the idea of Punjabiat (Punjabi-ness as something you can wear), and the national press has followed it since as the brand that made the region's heritage wearable. Racks hold slogan T-shirts in Punjabi, hand-embroidered phulkari bought straight from the women who stitch it rather than through middlemen, juttis, small figurines and folk oddities. The flagship is on the Sector 17 plaza, with branches at Elante and on Janpath in Delhi.
