Building with earth at the Auroville Earth Institute
A six-day residential course in compressed stabilised earth blocks or in arches, vaults and domes: two days of theory, then block production and masonry by hand.
The fee is confirmed only by email after registration and an advance payment. · Fixed course blocks several times a year (in 2026: March, June, September and December); the institute publishes each year's calendar on its registration site.
Upcycling workshop at WellPaper
Village women who turn discarded newspaper into baskets and bowls teach the technique in a short hands-on session, and you keep what you make.

Two days inside a working handmade-paper mill: turning plants and weeds into pulp and pulling sheets on the first day, then making your own sheets with flowers and fibres on the second.

Two days in a bamboo workshop learning how the poles are treated and jointed, and how a seat or other furniture is built from them.
